Ikebana for “Poetic Imagination in Japanese Art”
Ikebana is among the events and activities for visitors to the Portland Art Museum to “find poetic inspiration.” Each week during the exhibition of Japanese screens at the Portland Art Museum, “Poetic Imagination in Japanese Art,” (October 13, 2018 to January 13, 2019) chapter members from each of our schools will provide a tokonoma arrangement for the activities area created in the main entrance. Large arrangements will adorn the stage for the the two lecture events in October and December by Phyllis Danielson and Nana Bellerud, respectively. Demonstrations by Nana Bellerud, Heida Bruce and Carolyn Alter will be part of the Art and Culture Weekend activities day, respectively in October, November and January.
Please visit the Chapter website gallery to see photographs of the event arrangements which will be added as they become available. Chapter 47 is pleased to be a community partner for this exhibition with our in-kind donation.
