Remembering Mae Ninomiya …
Mae Ninomiya, our long-time member and former Chapter President (1997 – 1999), passed away on Friday, October 23. She was 96. Michiko writes:
“Just the other day, I saw her at Ikoi-no-kai senior lunch program. She was waving her hand with a big smile from the other side of the room, so I did the same. Her smile will stay in my heart for the rest of my life. She brought flowers to each table as long as she could. She arranged flowers at the school nearby, too. She was a lady of Ikebana through and through. I will miss her very much. She has lived her life well and to the best of her knowledge.”
A memorial service will be held on 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14, at the Kenton Church (2115 N Lombard St., Portland, 97217). Please see the Oregonian obituary
