An amended slate to have the vice president temporarily handle the responsibilities of the recording secretary position was unanimously passed by the 22 members present, allowing Nominating Chairperson, Judy Harpel to duly install Officers for 2018-2019.

Helen Chadsey, Membership Director introduced two guests, Sue Johnson, Ohara Portland and Reiko Warrens, Sogetsu.

Kathryn Cochran and Heida Bruce presented the program, “Views of Spring.” The members were treated to an overview of Ikenobo styles, both traditional and modern, with an explanation of the concepts to understand how to look at the arrangement.  Portland’s warmer than usual month of May resulted in a colorful array of materials for the “Views of Spring” as well as in the arrangements provided by each of the schools: Nana Bellerud, Sogetsu, Sasha Cox, Ichiyo, Judy Harpel, Ohara Seattle, Carolyn Alter, Ohara Portland,  and Michiko Kornhauser, Saga Goryu.
