Message from the President …
When I first started my Ikenobo Ikebana studies so many years ago, my first assignment was to walk the countryside, hike to the mountain tops, stroll along the streams to take in and study the character and growth habit of each plant and tree, to observe the relationship of the sky, the mountains and valleys of the landscape. I then did not have a clear understanding of why I was given that assignment. After all, I was there to learn Ikebana. Soon I knew that these observations were an essential part of being able to translate this knowledge into Ikebana. My life has been greatly enriched by not only making Ikebana arrangements but by appreciating this great gift we call Nature.
I wish for you to have many excursions into Nature.
