2016 marks the 20th Annual Japanese New Year Celebration also known as Mochitsuki!  Over the years, the event, (food, activities and entertainment) has varied, responding to changes in the venue, attendance and community participation.

This year, on January 31, at the PSU Smith Memorial, Nana Bellerud of Sogetsu demonstrated and the Ikenobo, Ohara Portland and Sogetsu Schools exhibited arrangements.
