September General Meeting

For the Surprise Program, a spokesperson for each of the schools presented a brief talk: Phyllis Danielson gave a short history of the Ohara School and reported that their Headquarters will be introducing a new arrangement this year, which we will look forward to seeing demonstrated by her!
Mrs. Kodachi described the Sogetsu School as a creative approach to Ikebana after the student learns the basics, and talked about some of the friends and students she’s known from 57 years of teaching.
Elly Heitmeyer briefly reported on Ikenobo and expressed well-wishes for Dr. Skog.
Mieko Heriford announced Saga Goryu’s Annual Fall Festival on Nov 8-9 at the Henjyoji Temple.
Nana Bellerud showed examples of 5 miniature arrangements and described the workshop planned for the December program: flowers will be provided and members need to bring an appropropriately small bottle or vase.
Table centerpieces were provided by Phyllis Danielson, Mieko Heriford and Nana Bellerude.
