Named after a Japanese emperor of the 9th century, the Saga School teaches four traditional styles of Ikebana, ranging from the very formal Seika, the more natural Moribana, the studied simplicity of Heika and the Buddhist symbolism of Shogonka, plus the modern, abstract arrangements expressed in Shin-Shoka.
Saga-Goryu is taught locally by: Wako Henjoji (503) 232-6352 (W) and (503) 699-8771 (H); David Komeiji (503) 234-7805; Elsa Wasser (503) 635-2931
